Install Extension

InspectDev is currently available for Chromium-based browsers. Installing it takes just a few seconds.

Chrome Web Store

The recommended way to install InspectDev is through the Chrome Web Store.

1. Visit the InspectDev listing on the Chrome Web Store
2. Click Add to Chrome
3. In the permissions dialog, review the requested permissions and click Add Extension
4. Once installed, the InspectDev icon appears in your browser toolbar

Other Chromium Browsers

InspectDev works on any browser that supports Chromium extensions:

• Microsoft Edge — visit the Chrome Web Store listing from Edge; Edge will guide you through enabling Chrome extension support if it isn't already
• Brave — the Chrome Web Store installs extensions directly; no special configuration needed
• Opera — install via the Chrome Web Store or the Opera add-ons catalog
• Vivaldi — same process as Brave; Chrome Web Store installs without issues

Pinning the Extension

After installation, we recommend pinning InspectDev to your toolbar for quick access:

• Chrome / Edge / Brave — click the puzzle piece (extensions) icon in the toolbar, find InspectDev, and click the pin icon
• Opera — click the extensions icon in the sidebar, find InspectDev, and enable "Show in toolbar"

Updating

InspectDev updates automatically through the browser's extension update mechanism. You can also check for updates manually by navigating to chrome://extensions, enabling Developer mode, and clicking Update.

Troubleshooting

The icon isn't showing: Make sure the extension is enabled on chrome://extensions and pinned to the toolbar.

"This extension may have been corrupted": Reinstall from the Chrome Web Store. This warning usually appears after a failed update.
